What is Spinal Decompression Therapy?
Spinal Decompression Therapy unloads, or decompresses, the spine using non-surgical distraction and positioning.  It provides a viable alternative to spinal surgery for patients suffering from chronic, severe neck and low-back pain and resulting radiated pain in the arms and legs.

How Does It Work?
By producing and sustaining negative pressure between and within the disc, Spinal Decompression Therapy enables the disc to decompress, replenishing much-needed nutrients, fluids and oxygen to the injured or degenerated disc while working like a vacuum to draw the bulging or herniated disc back into place.  Unlike traction tables of old, which simply stretched the entire length or segment of the spine, cutting-edge technology used in modern Spinal Decompression Tables allows for a much more precise treatment, isolating the specific injured or degenerated disc for distraction.  In addition, our facility's state-of-the-art SpineMed table has a patented self-adjusting mechanism that enables it to detect and respond to the patient's muscular contractions throughout treatment.  This means if your body tenses up or your muscles go into a spasm, the table will immediately adjust itself to help your muscles release before slowly moving again toward gentle distraction of the disc.  This self-adjusting mechanism enables maximum results, so that tensed muscles do not impede progress. 

Is it Safe?
Yes.  Spinal Decompression Therapy is FDA-approved for treatment of the neck and low-back.  It has been proven to be safe and effective, as well as comfortable and pain-free for patients.

What Does the Treatment Consist Of?

Are There Any Contraindications for This Treatment?
Yes.  Spinal Decompression Therapy is not advised for patients with the following conditions: presence of surgical hardware, severe osteoporosis, congenital deformity, pregnancy, and fracture.  However, each patient is evaluated on an individual basis to determine if this treatment is a recommended option for him or her.

Is It Cost-Effective?
